@lennox1212 –you are the idiot ! You didn’t even hear what the guy said! He speaks fast so you have to listen fast. He said the opposite of your criticism. Clean your ears out ! He’s not extremist, he’s just enthusiastic and he has VERY good points to remember.

  • durgaaa:

If you slow your talk down, and sip water sometimes, you’ll not stumble and get tongue-tied and dry out. You’ve really good terminology and anatomy lexicon but you speak too fast with not enough quiet space for absorption. People can’t learn as fast as you are spitting out ideas. Playing a second time is exhausting because your pace is just too fast in giving your good ideas. You’ll mellow with time, since it looks as if you’re studying to be a therapist, but NOW is when you’re speaking to us!

I took a lot from this video. You talk very fast for me but I understand the point about systems and movements instead of rigid abstract movements from machines. I use more movements under load now after a good warm up.

    great vid!!!

  • joshrubineastwest:

Thanks for the compliment, as we actually see ourselves in others and that is all a judgement is. As well, I take it you just watched my vid and really did not listen to it. I am not advocating machines at all! Scaring people, if people are scared by a video, then all that means is I really stired the pot and maybe they don’t have as strong of a foundation as they thought they did!

  • lennox1212:

    Another extremist idiot…
Who in their right mind will only use machines ALONE…if there are then they are as stupid as you are.You have to alternate machines/free weights.A set on a machine followed by a set with free free and vice versa.Stop scaring people ,IDIOT.!!!

  • captainjosue:

What great advice. Ever since performing Olympic weightlifting I haven’t used any machines and hopefully never will. I have nothing else to say because you said it all.

  • mrsdebcrn:

Thank you! This will give me more information for my clients who insist they want to use the “machines.”

At 8.55 did Josh/You said labouring problems? What’s this?

  • topheramazz:

josh, could u please do a video about shoulder injuries and possibly some rehabilitation options. i’ve had nagging shoulder pain for 2 months and i cant seem to get it to go away. i probably did it by doing behind the neck shoulder press ups with too much weight and by going down too far. what would u suggest in general as a rehab option?

  • cche7:

Well said Josh, you are the man!!!

  • bookskamaki:

great video. Very helpful for someone enthusiastic about sports who wants to start training. the majority of poeple that go to the gym in my place, are afraid of squats and prefer machines. they think machines are safer. i believe that for a serious athlete machines are of no use .

  • PbMike2005:

Hey josh i know dumbell bench press isnt a machine. But its from a lying down position, is this okay or can you recommend a better chest excercise i can do while standing?

  • DanielAnchondo:

Are there any machines you do like? I notice that you mentioned cable machines as beneficial.

  • 1OriginalQueen:

So…how do we determine what is best for the ourselves…can you give more direction about finding out what’s best for each individual? Thanks.

  • joshrubineastwest:

It is all good, just depends on who and why you are using it…they key is…it is not for everyone!

  • riosdante:

Great video but is the TRX something that we should stay away from?

  • joshrubineastwest:

Thanks…just realized I forgot to change the title!

  • WarEagle2727:

Great Video! The title is kind of strange, though.
